I mean he's a pretty handsome and decently talented guy. If all he wants is to eat a few people every now and then, who are we to judge?

I think it's probably fine. As far as we know he hasn't murdered anyone, so it's kind of harsh to condemn him for thought crime. It would probably play out better if he was just like "yeah, I said it, what?!" The denial thing isn't a good look. Most people seem really bad at directing the narrative of their own scandal. Like, he should hire a PR person just to spin it.
