I love this show, I just started watching it 2 days ago on netflix lol and was curious if the jail is close to being a real jail? I know the women can buy some needed items but can they really have that much stuff in the show?makeup? and the black transgender guy has a beauty shop lol is that really possible? haha
shareWe could read the memoir and find out I guess. The real Piper said some things on the show are accurate and for other thing great liberties were taken. It is a minimum security prison for nonviolent female offenders. The real life facility she stayed in was in Danbury, Ct and was built to house Watergate criminals, so it would be a so called "country club" prison.
