Isn't Katniss meant to be like 16? And a little on the small and very much on the skinny side?

Personally I think Isabelle looks the part far more then Jennifer Lawrence. Don't hate me here, I thought Jennifer did a fantastic job but in terms of the role she looked far too old and was also too tall (going by Katniss' description in the books). I won't bring up the point that Katniss is meant to be really skinny because I know that will just get me yelled at. And Jennifer has a banging body either way.

I think Isabelle looked perfect, and would have pulled of that roll as good as, if not better than, Jennifer. Not sure why every seems to think she was too young, she looked like a small 16 year old when she was playing Clove (who is meant to be 15 anyway?! Not like 12, and there really any difference between an average sized 15 year old (Clove) and a small 16 year old (how Katniss was mean to be))

The casting director said that Isabelle was just simply in that in between age/stage - too young to play Katniss and too old to play Prim. While I think that Isabelle could definitely play the part well, I'm okay with how it worked out.

Katniss was meant to have an older air about her, older than Isabelle's, and they even said Jen had the maturity Isabelle didn't yet. So no, your theory doesn't fit. No one could have played the dark-eyed Clove like Isabelle; the casters knew what they were doing.

I thought she should have been Katniss. I think Isabelle looks more like what I pictured in my head when I read the books. Oh well. 😞
