This is the first time that I've ever seen this young man Daniel Kaluuya's work. I enjoyed watching him in this show, he came across as different, unique from the roles normally played by young male black actors in the USA. For me having been immersed in all things USA, most black roles that come to my mind from the UK and other European countries don't give me the same feeling of racial prejudices lurking under the surface. It may be there but it feels much different than the way the USA has positioned blacks, browns,(people of color).

As a middle class white kid from decent neighborhoods, I learned to look at minorities with disdain, I learned racial jokes very young, my family was not really prejudiced, but we had been conditioned, it was how things were. There were no black kids in the Burbank, Cali schools in 1960-1965. My dad would joke around with quips such as..."You are no bottle of milk yourself." -- but was not at all anti-black at all, My father was a building contractor and I can remember working as his helper when I was a kid and young teen, we worked for black families a number of times and there was always warm friendly interaction. I remember vividly this very cute teenager that flirted with me at this impressionable age, she was a "Real Stone Fox" in the jargon of that time/place.

I enjoy the difference in perspective from other places, there is so much more to the world than the "American-centric" view drilled into my view of the world by American Schools and other institutions. I have long enjoyed "Foreign Films", I thumbed rides over the hill to Hollywood as a young teenager, high on my list of things to do was seeing a Foreign Film in one of the various foreign film theaters on and slightly off the Sunset Strip.

I want to see this actor in a completely different role, that will tell me quite a bit and provide me with a more rounded take on Daniel.
