Have to say she is the best Jane Eyre in any adaptation I have ever seen. She had me blubbing away in Episode 3 tonight.

exactly what I was thinking...She's a perfect Jane!

I couldn't agree more! Ruth Wilson was brilliant in this role! She got all the different layers and aspects of Jane perfectly, and played it with such soul, passion, strength, vulnerability, and warmth - exactly as Jane should be played, but really never has been. Ruth is hands down the best Jane ever!

I had never read the book or seen a Jane Eyre before, but since watching the show I've started reading the book. I'm about half way through now and in my opinion Ruth did an amazing job portraying Jane. She managed to cpature all the different character elements perfectly.

Just don't know what to do with my sunday nights now there's no more Jane Eyre.

Absolutely. I usually hate costume dramas, and sat down to watch this with foreboding, but I became absolutely hooked, and Ruth Wilson had a lot to do with it. A wonderfully gauche but surprisingly sexy in an unconventional way, the electricity between her and Toby Stephens leapt out of the TV.

As a failed actor myself, I tend to be quite cynical about actresses suddenly thrust into lead roles, but I wish Ruth Wilson nothing but the best career in the world. On the basis of this, she certainly deserves it.

She is the Jane just like the live image jumping out of the book!
