Chosen on looks alone?

Does she have any formal acting training? Or does someone like her just submit their portfolio to IMDB and get selected exclusively on looks and youth. Looks and youth are a commodity around hollywood, but is it where they select someone based on looks first, and then train her via acting classes, or did she have prior experience acting? Because as a screen-play writer, I am not amazed but rather upset at the fact that most of these "meet so-and-so" on IMDB are young, pretty white females. And you wonder why only 20% of black actors are cast in film and tv. I know there are lots of more deserving minority female actors looking for work.

"In Katie's case they JUST BOUGHT THE PHOTO OPTION" -IMDB I guess it is only based on looks and not talent. This is how Hollywood creates these young, photogenic stars with no acting talent that end up having mediocre careers as opposed to the more talented, less- photogenic. And you wonder why teenage girls have a standard of they way they feel they have to look today? Thin is in, and this also sends a STRONG message that skin color is important in choosing roles.

stop crying, you going to blame this girl for your sense of racism in Hollywood? get a life. It's about money, good looking people sell more. Survival of the fittest and natural selection. Doesn't matter if you're black, white, yellow, or orange. If her acting wasn't up to par, people wouldn't watch her and she would weed herself out. So, yeah looks are important but she must have some talent too. So quit whining, and let this girl have her day.

you said people are not famous because of looks alone but because of their talent and i said no hilary duff is ugly and she has no talent so how do u explain that

She used to be cute. When she did ?lizzie mcguire?, that show on disney channel, and the movie. She really hasn't done much since she got the fake teeth and went anorexic...
