Geez. Stephen King and David Heyman have enough credibility in their respective industries to bash the Twilight franchise (which is indeed mediocre at best). What made her think she could do the same? She's relatively new to these things compared to King (hell, that guy could smear dirt on paper and make it sell if he wanted to). I know she was asked, and I know she was stating her honest opinion, but, sad as it is, 'honest opinions' in the film and book industries --specially negative ones -- have to be sugar-coated to an extent. She meant no ill will saying that comment, I know this. But she should've been more careful with her choice of words. If you aknowledge and criticize your biggest competition, you're making yourself look like you're scared of it.

She didn't just say "it's not my thing" or "I don't like it". She brought Harry Potter into the equation and said it flat-out that it was better. Whether you agree with this or not, it still wasn't a smart thing to say. This is a business and that comment could've hurt her career as well as her own movie.

I feel really bad that this had to happen to her, out of all people, because she seems like a sweet, likeable girl. I'd like to imagine she doesn't care about what the Twilight fans said, but people (specially around her age) are usually hurt by such comments, despite trying to hide it. I hope she was not affected, but I doubt it.

She should know that she is something special and they're not. I hate even thinking that she might have actually been offended by those ass-holes' comments. Hopefully she just laughed it off.

Indeed. I find Harry potter to be loads better than twilight. I like twilight quite a bit, but I find Harry Potter substantially more entertaining. The imagination, the adventure, the wonder.
Comparing the two however, would be like comparing apples and oranges. Yes, they both deal in the paranormal. But one is also a love story ;) I like those too :D

I totally agree, though, I think I like twilight a bit more(: (Than you seem to feel about twilight, not potter)

yes harry potter while being mainly young adult, also has a place in the world of epic fantasy. Twilight is simply a young adult vampire romance, both are good (I've never read twilight but alot of people like it) but while Rowling is up there with Tolkien, Terry Brooks, and George R.R. Martin. Stephanie is not.
