Maybe if he was a smart actor he would have familiarized himself with the show (which has 5 seasons before he joined) and the books and realize how gay friendly they are.

Get the hell off this CRAP. Just because the guy chose not to due the role does not mean he is a bad guy. WHY is he being dogged on for making a decision that was right for HIM??? Is he not allowed to get out of a role because he doesn't want to do certain scenes? Jesus. Give the guy a break. He doesnt like doing nude either so does thet make him an aweful man too? WOW.

It doesn't mean he's a bad guy. It does mean that he's a coward and a crappy actor, though. If an actor plays a serial killer, that doesn't mean s/he is a serial killer, wants to be a serial killer, or are sympathetic to serial killers. It means s/he is an ACTOR--something Grimes obviously isn't.

Sometimes, I pretend to be a monster and chase my nephews around. Yet, I have never once agreed to simulate sex with a man, kissing them, grinding on them for hours upon hours a day...

As a side note: Luke won't be doing anything in the Fifty Shades movie that he didn't do on True Blood... less even, from what I understand of the roles. He isn't playing one of the main characters. He is playing the main character's brother, who I'm pretty sure never has sex with either one of the main characters.

Has it ever occurred to anybody that Luke Grimes is somebody similar to myself. Somebody who has nothing against gays, doesn't fight for their cause or against it, doesn't really care cause it's none of his business what gay people do in their lives because it doesn't affect his life in any way, and what gay people makes them happy but not himself. Maybe he's like me in the fact that he has no problem with gays but the thought of kissing a man and having sex with a man for real, or even acting it out for pretend make him feel nauseous and knows there is no way that you could even do it for pretend and do it even close to being convincing about it.
