Do you think he gets typecast?

As laddy lads and all round bad characters. I'd like to see him have a character that is good or quiet or shy.

As good as he is as bad characters, he seems to have only had them throughout his career so far. Anyone else think he may be typecast?

He was on BBC Radio 1 this morning (along with Oliver and Lilly, or JJ and Naomi) he's not like his characters that much, but his accent is 'laddy' so I guess thats why he appears to get the typical role. He seems really nice though, the entire cast is really grounded

I agree, and yet I disagree, and also, I'm neutral...

his accent is laddy were does a laddy accent come from exactly

doesn't make sense, is that your way of saying working class

reply

Not exactly, sort of what some people might call a charmer or even a player or something. I wasn't being specific really.

He does get typecast, which is a shame. Having said that, he's brilliant at the parts he plays and I'm not sure I can imagine him doing anything else. BUT, he should be given a chance. He's an incredible actor and I'm sure he could pull it off.

Not so much in Skins, but he seems to get bullied and beaten up alot!!

There was a thing, which may well have passed you by, that started about twenty years ago and seemed to begin winding up a couple of years ago, called Lad Culture. There were Lads, Ladettes, Senior Hooligans.. a whole lot of stuff. It was quite popular in the media. God, the media was all over it.

I expect you were convalescing or in a monastic order when all this was going on. Lord, how I envy you.

Honestly, you wouldn't believe what it led to.

To put your mind at rest, the ultimate lads have always been Toffs. No-one is suggesting that a commoner could spawn a cultural phenomenon. I'm sure you've glimpsed mentions of "Hooray Henrys" through your slitted fingers as you've read the news. Even a cushion pressed to the face couldn't obscure the reports of out of control Stock Brokers wrecking restaurants and leaving hundred thousand pound tips.

The cads.

Rest assured, lad culture has passed the "working class" by. They feed upon one another, just as they always have, ruthlessly, efficiently, and without remorse.

Well he seems to be exactly like the parts he's played in real life except a bit more controlled but also he seems to accept those parts. You chose what auditions you go to don't you? (Sorry, know nothing about the acting process).

Look at the new projects he's in, The Runaway and Weekender. I think they're going to be similar to what he's already played. Maybe at the moment he's just trying to build on his huge fan-base from Skins and then will do something totally different, although it would be very difficult to believe him as someone quiet and shy.

Let's face it though, he's got the charisma, the talent, the fanbase, the looks and he's only 21, so he's got plenty of time.

Good luck to him.
