Wow, She Really, REALLY Cannot Act....

Reading some of the reviews from the play she was doing in London and they are awful:

"That actor Stephen Wight should wring a tender portrait of a troubled man out of such crass writing, surrounded by tech and opposite the expressionless void of co-star Dianna Agron ("Glee"), is nothing short of a marvel...Agron, however, is little more than a clothes horse. She plays up Dahlia's numbness and ends up vocally monotone, facially inert and deeply unwatchable."

It's not surprising because she can't even act on screen even with the opportunity to do multiple takes. What made her think she was at all capable of acting on the stage with her many talent deficiencies and lack of charisma? How embarrassing.

I hope she survives this. This is so upsetting to me.

It's been ages since I've read such appalling reviews for a stage performance. I feel sorry for the actor playing McQueen, he's been getting raves, but Agron's poor reviews are tarnishing him and the play.

I'm not shocked that someone came to this board to make sure to point out something negative.. It's odd though that people going to see the play rave about it and Dianna.. so there's that.. and during Tribeca, people were also raving about her in Bare and Tumbledown...

reply

"People raving"... were those official reviews or people on twitter? I checked metacritic and Variety and can't find reviews for either of those films.

To be fair, the play itself is apparently quite terrible. Pretentious and embarrassingly overwrought dialogue that deals with heavy topics with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer; no grace, no depth. So I admire Stephen all the more for doing such a spectacular job with such poor material and opposite Dianna a.k.a that awkward, block of wood masquerading as an actress. My friend actually saw this the other day out of curiosity at how bad she could be given the reviews (large swaths of empty seats by the way, and he said it was such a small theater that its relative emptiness was even more noticeable) and said he actually thought he was going to melt out of second hand embarrassment for her every time she mumble/barked out a line with no inflection or change of expression. He couldn't get over how good and affecting Stephen was however, despite how terrible the main actress was in comparison.

Everyone's opinion should made by their own judgement. It's stupid to say for an actress that she can act based on someone else's opinion.

I looked on-line and found a couple of reviews that are actually praising her performance in the play

From the review:

She speaks in a strange, sing-song voice throughout

So the exact same voice she used for Quinn Fabray.

She is expressionless and monotone in all her parts because, well, she is a crap actress.

Probably slept with the right people, made the right connections, and got the roles she has had.

I'm sure she's very hot potential wife material in the elite jewish circles she runs in now. Not many blonde super nice hot jewish women I imagine. Probably has tons of very well connected admirers who want to wife her or get their son to wife her. Why she isn't pregnant with her 8th child, is a big mystery to me.
