You realize no one is forced to buy a shirt/bag/whatever in support of anyone's charity right?

I doubt any celeb is the sole support of any charity and you'll raise more money if someone gets something for their money as opposed to saying "just give to this charity." Plus how do you know how much Stephen himself did or didn't donate? And what makes you think SA is getting any money from promoting the charity?

From what I can tell SA supports smaller charities which usually means most or all of the money above the cost of the product goes to the charity as opposed to the big charities that very little of the money actually goes to the people/services it's raising money for. Unicef only uses 10 cents for every dollar raised for the people they are supposedly helping as an example. And there are places online that you can check to see what percentage of the donations actually go to the charity as opposed to admin costs.

As for raising money another way, how would you suggest he do that in a way that will actually bring the highest amount of money to the charity and with a fast turn around?

And don't you promote your friends if they have a cause they support and you feel it's worth supporting too? Why should a celeb be any different? I do it all the time with businesses, why shouldn't it be the same for charities?

Have you asked to see a breakdown of where the money went?

You seemed upset that SA would support Jared Padalecki in his endeavor to raise money for JP's charity. I was just pointing out that friends support friends, why would being a celeb change that. Or are celebs not allowed to recommend another celebs philanthropic endeavors?

Wouldn't you agree that the most important thing is that these charities (if you deem them worthwhile) are funded. Does it really matter how if they're getting the maximum amount of money? And you realize the more shirts, bags, hoodies, etc are sold the cost per unit goes down and the charity receives more money.

Why would you assume any of the Fck Cancer money went into SA's personal account? IIRC Fck Cancer was a charity before SA got involved with it and any proceeds would have gone directly to them. I highly doubt SA played middleman with any of the funds. Why would he? It would just be a big hassle. I'm sure you could go to represent.com and ask them how it works when they run a fund raiser.

As for getting a tax deduction. IIRC you can only deduct any amount given over the cost of an item. Did you get a receipt when you got your shirt or a statement you could print out when you purchased it? That's all you'd need for your taxes.

Well I suppose you could show up at the event Stephen will be at and try and ask him yourself about your concerns.
