The Holocaust wasn't very tolerant. Neither was The Spanish Inquisition.

reply

The Holocaust wasn't carried out in the name of Christianity. It's perpetrators happened to be from a Christian society, but their motives were not religious. The same can't be said of radical Muslims and their terrorist representatives.

As for the Inquisition, it was several centuries ago and has no bearing on Christianity today.

reply

If we're patient, in around the year 2500, the rad muzzies ought to be about as civilized as we are today. In a somewhat related note, how bad would it have been if British colonists (and even earlier Christians) had access to automatic weaponry and planes and such.

reply

That is a very valid argument. How does Christianity not accountable for inquisitions and crusades? Was that a beta version of Christianity? Did God release an update?

No, inquisition and crusades were raw, literal Christianity. Only after most of the church's influence was taken away did humanity start moving forward.

reply

Wow... I can tell that you really hate Christianity and Islam.

What did anybody do to you to make you hate while religions that much?

reply

[deleted]

Nothing in the world has ever divided the human race more than religion.
The most dangerous and destructive virus.

reply

You seem to forget that many people get comfort and solace from their faith.
During this pandemic, my mother and I have also gotten a lot of help from deacons from my mother's church.
Please explain how that is that wrong.

reply

[deleted]

Right... You're making four mistakes here.

1: Islam has more than a billion followers all over the world. It is not far to assume that all these people are the same.
2: Even if there was proof that all Muslims were terrorists, it would be wrong to forbid other religions.
3: How would it be fair to confiscate people's holy books? Did you never hear about the concept of religious freedom?
4: It is really not true that religion is the only reason for war. It is much more complicated than that.

reply

It is not wrong, it is a misplaced and misguided irrational faith. People of "reason" are capable of having faith in, but not limited to: (oneself, others, nature, life, objects, science, etc.). Many people from different cultures, religions, and throughout history, have placed their faith and beliefs in different gods/deities/myths which they also claim brings them comfort and solace simply because they convince themselves of it. It is a coping and psychological mechanism for things that they do not understand and for their irrational fears. Faith in the imaginary does not make them more real, valuable, or worthy than having faith in yourself, others, and nature. Faith in the imaginary will always be a 50/50-chance just like having faith in an actual living person or any object.

Children for example, take a comfort object, transitional object, or security blanket which they use to provide them psychological comfort, especially in unusual or unique situations, or at bedtime. These comfort objects may take the form of a blanket, a stuffed animal, or a favorite toy which provide them with the same comfort and solace that adults receive from placing their faith in the imaginary.

reply

You don't realize that stating that everybody else's faith is "irrational" and "misguided" is arrogant?

reply

No, not their faith, but the object in which they place their faith.

I have faith, however, I do not have faith in something imaginary in order to bring me solace, comfort, and peace. By the way, that is not everybody, as there are millions that think and believe as I do which does not make us any more or less important or valuable than all those that choose to have faith in one of the many different deities.

I have known religious persons that placed their faith in different deities and stated that everyone else that did not believe in "their deity" was a false faith and eternally condemned...now that is arrogance.

reply

If I can chime in politely for a moment, I understand where you are both coming from. linuxlad, I agree with you that religions on the whole have caused much division in the world and are responsible for some appalling human atrocities. On the other hand, my own mother is a woman of faith who doesn't attend church because she supports any of those destructive elements. She is a quiet, kind, compassionate lady who finds a sense of solace and community in her church activities (nothing extreme here, we're talking cake bake sales, catering for funerals and the like, certainly no suicide bombing). Also, I reject that there is an inherent lack of intelligence in people who believe. Many churches in many religions wouldn't accept me for simply being who I am, but there is never a moment of question with my mum. Never once. Even when I made it clear to her that I don't share her religious views and don't believe in any one God. She is smart enough to know that her Bible should be read in context of the time it was written and can reconcile her more progressive personal values with her wish to live her life giving to others and with the thought that there is an afterlife where she will one day be reunited with my father. That doesn't make her dumb or gullible or irrational. It makes her someone I admire and love very much.

In short, I think there needs to be A LOT more give and take from both sides in this argument. Tolerance and understanding is the key, at least that's what I think.

reply

Excuses, excuses!

reply

You’re the one making excuses you are trying to excuse hate and murder with hate and murder

reply

"Is it because Christians are more tolerant and peaceful than Muslims?"

Holocaust, slavery, KKK, inquisition, genocide, migrant children torture, recent mass killings, witch burnings, Tulsa, George Floyd, Matthew Shepard .

The pot calling the kettle black.

reply

???????
None are from Christians.
You trying ti imply that those were Christian entities makes you look foolish.

reply

Nobody is talking about "entities" except you.

"Is it because Christians are more tolerant and peaceful than Muslims?"

Evil acts committed by Christians show the OPs comment isn't true.

reply

and the Spanish Inquisition wasn't about Christianity, but Spanish Conquest. Jesus was a turn-the-other cheek love thy neighbor hippie that never preached spread the word by the sword. Not one word about that in the Bible. Muhamed however (to the extent we know there was a Muhamed), *did* preach spreading the word by the sword, and the punishment meted out to this French teacher in the name of Islam is exactly what the text of the Quran calls for

[deleted]

Neither was 9/11

reply

U.S was in the middle east stealing oil. Iranian government overthrow, Iraq government war and overthrow, U.S. helped to fund and create the Taliban with its proxy war in Afghanistan. Saudi Arabia paid the U.S. back by providing most of the hijackers.

reply

Conspiracy theories and excuses. But of course why would I expect someone who defends BLM to start taking a stand against terrorism now. Also it sounds a lot like you are trying to justify 9/11.

Also you are now engaging in a non sequitur the discussion was why is it ok to mock one imaginary figure but not the other. The inquisition has nothing to do with it, the reason is one group will blow you up if you do while the other won’t , it’s terrorism

reply

Only a racist believes Black lives don't matter.

I suggest you open a history book since you don't know any. U.S. funded the Taliban, genius.

reply

Only a racist would condone a terror organization who shouts “shoot the white folk”, “get ready to fcking die” and blocks the entrance to a hospital so that two wounded cops can’t be taken in. It’s pretty cowardly of you to hide behind a slogan and a fabricated allegation of racism to justify looting, rioting and murder. You are beyond pathetic

Also strawman I never said That and we funded them to fight the Soviets not to suicide bomb us. Also regardless of what we did or didn’t do it’s a non sequitur, we didn’t tell them to murder anyone who mocks their imaginary prophet, and you worship a similar imaginary figure, you’re just as deluded as the Muslims. Regardless that doesn’t justify mass murder as you are attempting to nor does it justify murder for mocking an imaginary religious figure

You sure do love terror organizations (BLM, taliban, etc)

reply

"we funded them to fight the Soviets "

The U.S. funded religious extremists who hated all Westerners. Of course, they were going to eventually attack us! They attack and kill Shiites, too.

BTW, the U.S. is once again helping the Taliban in Afghanistan. The U.S. will never never learn.

"you worship a similar imaginary figure,"
Link?

I reiterate, only a racist believes people who fight for racial justice and equality are terrorists.

reply

We didn’t fund them to cause 9/11 Your conspiracy theory is dismissed.

BLM isn’t fighting injustice (their cause is mostly a fabrication) they are looking for excuses to riot , loot and murder people. They are no better than the KKK. You are a sick person for defending them.

reply

"We didn’t fund them to cause 9/11"

Yet they did, anyway! And the U.S. government continues to help the Taliban now.

Yes, racists like yourself stereotype people who support justice and equality. Meanwhile, you support your "Proud Boys" and other riffraff who drive cars into peaceful demonstrators.

reply

Unless we knew they were going to do 9/11 then your argument doesn't have a leg to stand on.

BLM isn't about justice and equality, it's an excuse to riot and murder innocent people. I'll ask again do you give a damn about the death of David Dorn? Of course you don't because you're a racist hiding behind justice and equality but in reality you only care about black lives if you can exploit them for cheap political points. How does murdering a police captain, a 1 year old in a stroller, looting Macy's and burning buildings promote "justice and equality"??? Hell their spokesman said on Martha McCallum that he would "burn the country down" until the police were defunded, that is the very definition of terrorism.

reply

Yes, it does! The Taliban was abusive and oppressive in Afghanistan long before 9/11. They were arresting and beating people for smiling in public! I complained about them for that, oppressing women, destroying the historical Buddha statues and assassinating Massoud who the U.S. should have been supporting since he was pro-democracy.

BTW, I blame the Soviets for 9/11 and Islamic terrorism because they started this domino effect by overthowing Afghanistan's leader and invading the country.

You hate black people. Enough said.

reply

You are clearly the one who hates black people, you only care about them when you can use them to hurt the president you’re a very sick person. No one had any clue Islamic terrorists would suicide bomb us your case is dismissed

Edit: BLM is just as bad as Al Qaeda, the only difference is Al Qaeda has been more successful

reply

Of course, they knew! 9/11 was the second attack on the World Trade Center! Government officials knew terrorists would return which is why defense preparations by NYC government and private companies were made. Shortly before 9/11, intelligence agencies received warnings about an imminent attack, but lazy Bush was on vacation repeatedly at that time so leadership and coordination were nonexistent on the federal level.

"BLM is just as bad"

Because you're a racist.

reply

Please show me proof the government knew 9/11 was going to happen, so far all you have are empty speculation and conspiracy theories and I am not going to entertain them.

So it's racist to be against rioting, looting, arson and murder (many of the victims were black themselves???). "Racist" is just a buzzword to you, it's a last ditch effort when you can't debate the facts, you are one pathetic little man. Hell BLM blocked the entrance to a hospital so that an ambulance carrying two wounded cops couldn't get in, that is attempted murder right there. And of course they were chanting "We hope you die"

reply

Google is your friend, lazy lima bean.

reply

Got it, you can't defend your position. I accept your concession. Now go back to your basement safe space.

reply

You're lazy and racist.

reply

You're deluded, racist and a terrorism sympathizer

reply

I want equality and justice for ALL Americans!

You're the crybaby racist boohooing about BLM, triggered lazy lima bean.

reply

No, you want to burn the country down for cheap political points, you couldn't care less about any past or current injustices, black lives are just pawns in your political agenda.

So it's being a crybaby to be against burning buildings, looting, and murder?

reply

Since you brought up the Holocaust, I suggest you read this and be educated:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_persecution_of_the_Catholic_Church_in_Germany

The Nazis went after Christians (Catholics) as well as Jews. If there had been Muslims in Nazi Germany, they would've gone after them, too.

reply

I'm not surprised. There are Protestants who don't believe Catholics are Christian. The KKK used to be anti-Catholic and held rallies against them. General acceptance is relatively recent, but anti-Catholic bias and prejudices still exist.

reply

KEELAI seems racist.

reply

The Third Reich was founded on all sorts of esoteric mumbo-jumbo. Christianity/Catholicism cannot be blamed for the holocaust.

reply

Have you ever met a Muslim with a sense of humor?

reply

Yup. I know many...

reply

By definition, they cant be muslim.

reply

no true scotsman fallacy I see.

reply

That´s not what the no true scotsman fallacy is.

reply

"have you ever met a muslim with a sense of humour? if he has a sense of humour he cant be a muslim" (implied premise: no true muslim can have a sense of humor)

its basically a no true scotsman fallacy. but hey god stopped you jacking off right? so he exists LOOOLL

reply

I did not see the part about the humor. My bad.

reply

SNOWFLAKES!

reply

Nope it's because the Muzzies are murderous and fond of carrying knives. Doesn't their religion encourage them to kill people who blaspheme?

In summary if you take the piss out of Jesus/Christians you won't end up stabbed to death.

reply

The fact that they try to call it the "religion of peace" is straight up comedy.

reply

You’re an idiot racist

reply

How is that so? Elaborate.

reply

You would not say the same thing about Jews for fear of being labeled an anti-Semite, you’re a hypocrite.

reply

Same shit different asshole. On the other hand:

1. Jews don't strap bombs on them and blow up busses and innocent civilians. Nor do they behead innocent tourist girls.
2. I've never seen jews stone women to death. Nor have i seen them torture and murder women who dare ask questions, like muslims murdered Farkhunda in Afghanistan.
3. Jews do not try to convert you to their beautiful, peaceful religion of savages with flea-ridden beards and suicide bombers.
4. Jews don't murder people over cartoons.

Even if jews did all of the above, it still doesn't justify yours. So, stop making excuses and face your own damn atrocities.

reply

1) Yeah Jews just keep people in ghettos (hmm, sound familiar?) and then slowly commit ethnic cleansing against them by murdering them in mass or forcing them off their land.
2) Yeah Jews prefer to just shoot unarmed women and
children.
Oh btw, some of the highest rates of violence against women are in South America and Subsaharan Africa Nepal and India (you know... Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist countries) but I don’t see you complaining about that. Racist hypocrite.
3) You are a disgusting racist. How can you write such vomit. There is no compulsion in Islam.
4) yeah Jews prefer to commit ethnic cleansing.

reply

1. They sold those lands to Jews willingly. Jews only conduct operations in Palestinian territory if Muslims blow up innocent civilians.
2. Jews have formal, legitimate armed forces who only engage extremists and terrorists. They have to do that because Palestinians don't. In fact, it would be enough if Palestinians don't just harbor muslims who blow up children going to school.
3. Stating facts is not racism. Sticking to a primitive religion built around hating jews is racism.
4. They don't do such a thing. They wouldn't even run legitimate, totally justified military operations if Palestinians just sat on their asses and mind their own damn business, instead of suicide bombing innocent civilians.

Here's another bonus point for you. As Israel has a formal, real army trying to protect their civilians, and Palestinians just won't stop their animosity against Israel, how about Palestinians form some sort of armed forces with easily distinguishable uniforms and use their AK47s and barrels of explosives against the formal, legal army of Israel? Wouldn't it be better than suicide bombing innocent school-children and hiding amongst Palestinian civilians?

Fight and win against the Jews you believe God hates and commands you to murder, or, if you won't, just don't suicide bomb their civilians. Even you can appreciate the logic in that.

reply

[deleted]

Israel may be a bit relentless in it's response against terrorism, but Palestinians and muslims in general should learn to just stop their hatred against the jews and merrily live their lives. Or, fight in legitimate ways against the "invaders" if they so wish.

reply

[deleted]

Even if you're claims were true, that wouldn't warrant them suicide bombing children going to schools, and civilians going to work.

If your so-called "global hegemony" stops them from fighting in legitimate ways, then they should accept what they are given and learn to sit still. Murdering innocents is not fighting.

reply

[deleted]

Israel is acting in its right to self defense, as it did when all Arabs attacked them in 1967. Even if Israel did what you claim it did, it would not have happened if Palestinians didn't decide to strap bombs on them to kill Israeli children.

Their homeland is not stolen. They sold it to them, and then declared war on them, and lost. No need to be butthurt about it. And now, if they can't stand idly, they should rise up and fight a proper war, instead of murdering innocent civilians.

Here's a list of Palestinian suicide attacks against innocent Israeli civilians, some of which are children.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Palestinian_suicide_attacks

reply

[deleted]

Oh i understand alright. First they greedily sold their land, then they got all together to wipe jews out. They couldn't. But they refuse to let go.

reply

[deleted]

Palestinians sold their land. They should be grateful Israel lets them be after all those suicide bombings against innocent Israeli children and civilians. Too bad Islam makes them hate Jews and other religions altogether, so there is no winning the hearts of muslims by anyone else basically.

reply

[deleted]

Facts don't change even if you (a person who thinks a person who straps bombs on his waist and blows up a school bus is a freedom fighter) disagree with them.

I don't think you are an atheist, you are not smart enough.

reply

[deleted]

You think someone who blows up school children is a freedom fighter. You are in no position to judge anyone's intelligence and morals.

reply

[deleted]

Oh, why are you saying that? You were calling them (suicide bombers, murderers) freedom fighters an hour ago?

reply

[deleted]

I get it. Your religion commands you to be hateful of Jews and so you can't stop suicide bombing them, and cry out when you have your asses kicked. Pretty cowardly.

A person who blows up school busses is a terrorist anywhere in the world. You want to embrace terrorism? Then don't cry when legitimate, rightful countries defend themselves.

reply

[deleted]

My link shows many many more, targeted, suicide bombings and other atrocities against innocent Israeli civilians. But that's okay, since you confessed that you think "one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter".

reply

[deleted]

Quoting a made up line doesn't make it right. Mandela said no such word. But, you think a suicide bomber is a freedom fighter, and that's the horrific truth that defines you.

Wikipedia, which has all sorts of links to back up their articles, is not good for you, but a Turkish (Muslim) news agency is? Lol

reply

Why did you block me, idiot? Terrorist lover prick.

reply

As a matter of fact, Israel may even be very patient about the dastardly attacks on its people. About time muslims should understand that Islam's commands to hate jews is hurting them just as much as the jews.

reply

[deleted]

Palestinians sold their land. It is no longer their land. They should be grateful and remain in their part of land, and try not to murder any more innocent Israeli civilians.

reply

[deleted]

Goodbye, please remember: Strapping bombs on yourself and blowing up school children and innocent civilians is wrong, and may cause the right of self defense by legal forces of legitimate, real countries. So try not to do that.

reply

CUZ HE IZ DUM!

reply

Robert E. Howard said it best in one of the stories about Conan.

“Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.”

reply

Oh you mean you wish you could round up the blasphemers and the unbelievers and crucify them !

The simple answer is that in Western Civilization most people are relatively familiar with the Bible stories and Christianity whereas they know very little about Islam and have much less to do with it. They don't criticize Hinduism for the same reason.

reply

Because Christianity is declining in Western countries, whereas Islam is the world’s fastest growing religion.

Although Muslim countries are on the whole much safer than Western ones (lower murder rate per capita).

reply

...whereas Islam is the world’s fastest growing religion.

Even if that were true, it would also be because of much higher birthrates, as people are breeding like rabbits in non developed countries.

lower murder rate per capita

And that is because Islamic countries don't consider crimes against women as crimes. Murder and rape are often ignored or brushed over with minimal sentences.

reply

I think you mean developed. Most Muslim majority countries are developing or high income.

crimes against women

As was said, a developing country issue.

reply

Muslim majority countries are not developed. 2 months after oil runs out most of them will starve to death.

reply

LoL k sure.

reply

You know i'm right, what are they producing? And, you are wandering off the subject. Islam is not growing, muslims are breeding at a rapid, illogical rate. And crimes against women are usually overlooked in Islam, hence the low numbers at statistics.

reply
