Luke Evans is a throwback to some classic actors

When I watch him on screen, regardless of the movie, it makes me think of William Holden or Steve McQueen. I just love how rugged he is, the lines on his face convey such character which sets him apart from other actors of his age group still straddling the line between being pretty boys and men. I enjoy following Luke's career because he is an evocation of the Hollywood that I dearly miss, where the stars had real presence and gravitas. Keep up the good work, Luke.

Totally. He would have been more appreciated in the studio system of the 1930s, 40s and 50s.

Hi Poetist! Long time... happy new year. I just saw a long clip with Luke and cast of Beauty and the Beast. In it the interviewer says should I call you Sir yet, and Luke replies "Lord". Is Luke knighted or planned to be? Just curious.

I haven't seen the video and saw no royal talk. Maybe, he was joking or referring to the movie.
