I'm disappointed to read this.

It's been pretty obvious for a while that he is gay, so it's unfortunate that Hollywood actors today still feel the need to stay in the closet and get married like Rock Hudson did.

he isn't even that famous that he needs to go such bearding lengths

Ryan, keep dreaming. Not every attractive male is GAY. It's quite obvious he is very straight, and getting married. Like the previous poster said, he is not that famous to hide his sexual identity. Even if you were a female like myself, we both don't have a chance anyways..lol

Well, not quite. Just because a man marries a woman and has children with them does NOT make them 100% heterosexual. In some cases, it doesn't even mean their bisexual. These things are complicated.
And just because he isn't that famous, does not mean he wouldn't go to whatever length to hide his sexuality (whatever it may be). It's how the industry works. He wants to establish a career, particularly with his persona and fanbase from 90210, he has to appear to be heterosexual. How famous he is has nothing to do with that. On top of that, he's a Christian.

Matt's rumors don't come from wishful thinking, or his looks. They stem from things said about him that date back to his early work as a nobody on the Bravo show Manhunt, by people who worked on and casted that show. Other things have been said about him for years. Shortly after that, screencaps from a private webcam session showed up on gay blog Dudetube, shortly after they opened their own private video chatroom. This was before he got his big break with 90210. Most of his primarily female fanbase does not know this because his earlier fans were mostly lgbt fans that supported him on the Bravo reality show. It was discussed in those circles by people "in the know" and those who worked on that show, all before he got 90210 and his fanbase changed.
His reps are very aggressive at squashing any talk of this or posting of those images, though they are easy to find. They are known to threaten people who do so. Don't be surprised if they get this thread deleted.

And for the record, not every attractive male is straight. And not every attractive male that marries a woman (and has children with that woman) is straight.....no matter what they say.

He doesn't have to prove crap to anyone. This isn't the 50s, Rock Hudson married a woman cause he was trying to hide his sexuality. Maybe Matt is bisexual, but he does appear to like women. He doesn't have to marry anyone he doesn't want to. He could do what Jim Parsons did and not discuss it. You think if he was trying to keep the female 90210 fans more interested, he would stay single.

reply

If his PR team/management/agents say he should, he'll do what he's told. Just the way the industry works. And it doesn't matter that it's not the 1950s. The industry follows those same rules today as they did then. As for 90210, it most likely only has this season, and maybe a short 13 episode final season for next year. That's it. Being 'single' for the young female 90210 fans is pretty much over. But if he wants a major A-list film career (which is not likely, but it's what most young actors are aiming for, of course), then he has to build the image that will get him on that path, especially if he's to ever headline major worldwide franchises or hit films that are to be marketed to a predominately international audience (which comprises 60% of the total box office). And then there's his background, which is devoutly Christian.

Its called a "Beard".

Well, now that he's married, it's obvious that he is NOT. What made you so sure he was Gay? Just because you want to believe it, doesn't mean it's true.
