Career negatively impacted by The OA?

It's an embarrassingly bad TV show on Netflix. I couldn't finish it off...but read about the ending...very glad I skipped it.

Her star was on the rise but she never go past really small indie movies...but maybe she wanted it that way.

You find it embarrassingly bad, that's subjective.

Embarrassingly bad TV show? By who's standards? Yours? There's nothing wrong with Brit's career, she's just getting started and the OA is a phenomenal show.

reply

Just because you didnt like The OA, that doesnt mean nobody did or that her career will suffer.

reply

Hi, I am from the future, She has been in 15 episodes in 3 years, career is over.

Season 2 of The OA comes back later this month. I thought the show had potential but hated it by the end of the first season but the show isn't even over and clearly neither is her career.

reply

Her acting is horrible and cant stand staring at her face. Ruined the show for me immediately.

reply

Then don't watch it.

I found it embarrassingly great. That's just personal preference. I'd have to hear your opinion of her other movies which she writes and directs with her partner for me to have any opinion about your comment.

To answer your basic question, if you use social media as a metric her popularity has gone through the roof since the OA. Just go check her Instagram and see the thousands of likes and comments where she used to get 20 to 30 per post before the OA. Also the has been picked up for another season which is not usually considered a bad sign for someone's career when it's their creation.

Separate point - movie chat seems like it could be a great replacement for IMDb forum. I'm not sure yet because the comment creation dates seem wonky and I don't see options for lists and that sort of thing. But all the obscure actor and film data seems to be loaded into their database, which I have no idea how they got it. Great job. I was bummed though that when I signed up with my old email I didn't see my comments. Maybe used the wrong username, I forget exactly what it was.

So you lasted 1post, then went away.
