What if the Fame Went to PAULA'S Head and Not Robin's

So two things seem to be happening: 1. Everyone acting like Robin is the world's biggest dick because he put his hand on a fame starved fan's butt, as if this somehow means he's cheating (would a very famous married man pose for a selfie with a mistress? come on now). 2. Acting like it's all his fault because the fame went to his head…even though recent stories say that he wants to stay married and Paula is the one who wants a divorce.

So what if the fame went to Paula's head? 1. I mean, Robin is the son of Alan Thicke, so he's been used to fame for a long time. 2. He was singing hit songs before Paula really got going with acting. 3. Put her in most of his videos, and really pushed her into the spotlight in a major way. 4. He pushed for her to start acting every step of the way (she's said this in many interviews), helped get her her first major role in Idlewild, seemed cool with all her steamy sex and nudity scenes, etc.

I mean, what if Paula is just one more actress who wants to dump the pre-fame high school guy she's been with forever now that she's famous? What if she's just like Zoe Saldana and Kerry Washington and every other newly big time actress in that way, and will now date other big name actors to get publicity? People are just assuming it's all Robin's fault with these allegations but what if this is just a convenient excuse for something she wanted anyway…now she can look like The Wronged Wife and get everybody to side with her when she really just wants to date Idris Elba or Bradley Cooper or whoever and become a bigger star...

It looks like you put a lot of thought into this.

I happen to agree with the O.P. except for the fact that on a HOT 97 interview (it's a radio station) he did with them a day or so before the release of "PAULA", he says he DID in fact cheat, that he was sick of lying, ... and if you take what you see in the "Get her Back" vid literally --- he hates himself for it... In the interview he goes on to say he'd let fame get to him a bit and he got a big head, and he got very selfish and carried away.

But I agree that on the other hand, while Robin says many many things attributed to the break up, Robin doesn't want the break up and it's Paula who does. They reportedly fight like cats & dogs when they are together, WHEN they are, and My opinion is that she probably wants to date *others* - not just big named actors - because she's ready to move on... that simple... she wants someone new.
much less someone who won't cheat, which WILL end up happening when you are never home and you've been with the same person from age 14 to 37... things WILL get told, people WILL change, and humans ARE sexual whether people like it or not. People will look around... that's natural. But Robin has terrible self-control. He was thinking with his below the belt brain.
Now he's back down to earth & he's cut his hair and realized "I screwed up" and he's trying to get back a woman who, in the beginning of their relationship, wouldn't bring him around her friends or take him to prom b/c he was white
Sometimes I wonder why he puts her on a pedestal because of that alone... I'd be like having to prove myself all the time because of that.
I mean really? From 1 human to another, not cuz she's a celeb, but c'mon Paula!! realllyyyy??
Bet if she doesn't take him back even after marriage counseling, which they need so he won't belittle & she won't throw things at him in my opinion, she'll probably go hit up some African American actors or singers to date....
And, yes.... I said that.

This always bothered me about Paula Patton. She, herself, is HALF white and yet...she was too embarrassed to bring her white boyfriend to prom? If I dated a someone who was too embarrassed to take me to prom with them because my race, I'd be pissed and break it off. Also, when Chelsea Handler asked her "Are both your parents black?" She responded "No they're not, but that doesn't mean anything". She is obviously part white. First time I saw her in Precious, I said "She looks mixed". I was right. If a mixed person wants to identify as black or white, that's fine. But I get annoyed when they act like the other half isn't there and act ashamed of it.

I wouldn't be surprised if fame got to her head and she thinks she's too good for him. Did you see the way she posed for pictures and acted at Golden Globes in 2012? She acted like she was the most important person there. When she presented, she was giggling obnoxiously. I still think Robin Thicke is a cheating *beep* but both of them seem to have their issues. I do think Patton is gorgeous and a decent actress, but her personality and views annoy me. At least Halle Berry, Mariah Carey and Thandie Newton have acknowledged how hard it was choose who they are and have talked about it. Berry said on Inside the Actor's Studio that she felt bad about being just black because she felt was denying her mother. Patton just goes "I'm black and that's that."

Weirdly enough, I've always found bi-racial women to be LESS open mined to interracial dating and it's partly because they're trying a little too hard to win approval from people who are black.

And I really feel like that applies to Paula...who maybe is getting a little too used to the BET awards and the roles in "black" movies and having a white husband is just getting in the way of how popular she is in the black community. Maybe she wants to be the next Gabrielle Union or something.
