Wow - What Happened?

Just saw this pic from the "Amelia" premiere in October: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1357483520/nm1725848 Haven't seen him in anything since "Becoming Jane" and he looks almost gaunt in that photo. Did he have to lose weight for a role?
