He looks pathetic

I hate to say this...but I agree with you. I started to feel like it wasn't an act and his character was just him playing himself.

You're the ones who are pathetic. Have nothing better to do with your lives than trash-talk some kid actor. He's already gone further in his life than any of you ever will, I'm sure. And, by the way, he was perfectly fine in Vacation. He did what the role called for and did it well.

His character was supposed to be a dorky weirdo! Even cringeworthy, and he pulled it off perfectly.
It should've been very apparent in his first scene with the guitar..... "I don't have a vagina". It was hilarious.
