He's Totally Full of Himself

With his beard and his hipster glasses, he is trying so hard to be taken seriously

"I've done one of the biggest challenges you can do in Hollywood, which is transition from being a comedic actor to being a serious actor, and I'm really prideful of that," he says. "I could have made a billion dollars doing every big comedy of the last 10 years and didn't, in order to form a whole other life for myself. Now I have fulfillment doing both."

He is NOT a serious actor. Even in Moneyball and Wolf of Wall Street, the two movies that earned him (undeserved) Oscar nominations, he just plays variations of the buffoon comic relief character that he's always played. If you were to put this guy in an actual dramatic role he would flounder

Maniac, the Netflix miniseries, was mediocre to terrible, and his performance was one-note and shit. He tried hard to pull off a sort of brooding and complex character and the result was dull and lifeless. And I haven't seen Mid-90s, I know it got great reviews, but it looks like he's just imitating Larry Clark and Harmony Korine

I can just imagine if this guy ever does actually win an Oscar, he'll probably demand that every in every interview, movie trailer, talk show appearance, etc. he is introduced as "Academy Award Winner Jonah Hill"
