Cool dude, talented actor, but gee, his SA accent is so hard to bear, indeed it is almost comic in a surreal way. His lines are often undecipherable. This is an english-speaking actor in dire need for subtitles.
Do you mean in movies or real life? Because he IS South African and a very proud one. I can understand him very well and I am not even English native speaker. In Elysium, he played SA mercenary and in A-Team, he played Murdock by switching between accents.

shareI'm british. Just watched Elsium and his accent is utterly ridiculous. His accent was so distracting it ruined the last act for me. Normally, accents are neutralised in films, wherever you may come from but he seems to want to exaggerate his accent and it sucks.
