accent in Maleficent
The accents from most actors in the movie were all over the place, but Sharlto's intrigued me.
Stefan's accent starts off as a very light Irish lilt, which is almost unnoticeable.
As he goes further and further down the rabbit hole into madness, his accent gets thicker and thicker, evolving into full-on Oirish towards the end of the movie.
Was this a way for us to see that the king was losing control? Or did the continuity people not catch it? Or did they have less time toward the end of the movie and have to shoot faster and faster, leading almost all actors to gain weird accents (or at least lose their subtlety)?
Anyone know if it was a deliberate choice on Sharlto's part, or if it was his SA accent coming through, so he hid it with a thicker Irish accent?
