For weeks now, maybe months keep seeing click-bait that Lauren Cohan was greedy

I will not click on that stuff, but it is nice when those of you who do tell us what is in it ( hint, hint )

I don't know about the whole money thing in TWD. From what I have heard Daryl, Norman Reedus, is somehow paid the most. More than Andrew Lincoln even. So, if one of the women, Maggie, or Carole asks for more money it is hard to see how that would be greedy.

How is that computed? Any Hollywood bean counters out there? Seems like the so-called free-market we hear that justifies everything really exists to justify owners doing whatever the hell they want to people based on their ownership, which always leads to more profit and more ownership, and more control, and ... more unfairness, inequality and abuse.

I haven’t clicked on that particular one but have on others and let me say they are USELESS! Just a speck of story loaded with ads. Waste of time.

reply

Yeah, I won't give them the satisfaction.

reply

Lauren wasn't being greedy, she knows her worth and they should have payed her more.

reply

Yeah, I agree, both she and Steve Yuen really made the show a lot more interesting and human.

reply

I clicked on it, If I remember right it was a list of actors, not just her. They wanted raises for their work and may had some more demands. Nothing too unreasonable.

reply

I think you are right.

I don't mind clicking to support this site. At least the ads at the bottom here don't have the annoying pop ups everywhere.

Here you go: *warning spoilers for The Walking Dead*

Lauren Cohan's character, Maggie Rhee, has been a staple on The Walking Dead for almost a decade, but in 2018, AMC had to make the difficult decision to either concede to the actress' contract demands or give her character the ax. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cohan admitted that she was surprised by her negotiations, which made her think that maybe it was time to make an exit. "I took that, how baffled I was, and thought, 'Okay, well that's a sign. This is maybe just not a fit anymore,'" she told EW. "To feel like we weren't lining up in so many ways I just thought, 'Okay, well, maybe that means something.'"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cohan started actively looking for new roles during this time and was "getting offers left and right." Ultimately, she ended up walking from The Walking Dead, but the decision to let her go was a big departure from the comic books upon which the series is based, reported Forbes. Breaking rank with the books is not unheard of but certainly unorthodox. — the series previously departed from the comic with the death of Carl Rhimes (Chandler Riggs). However, just like the living corpses on the show, Cohan's character could return in the future.

Not that the current characters are bad, but I liked the continuity and history of having elders on the show that were from the start. They could do a lot with that, and what they have done has made the show worse than Fear The Walking Dead which I started to like more ... except that the last season was a bit flat. Morgan really shines, and I like Al(thea), Maggie Grace. She is awesome.

reply

The click bait is misleading. She wasn't let go. An opportunity came up with Whiskey Cavalier and she took it. It didn't work out so she is returning to the show for the final season.

reply

Thanks, she is great at Maggie. Have no idea what Whiskey Cavalier is, but I have seen her in some other stuff and it is unremarkable compared to TWD ... sad to say.

reply

Exactly, it is funny some think that they would let her go when she is one of the key player sin the series and such an incredible asset.

reply

She's back.

reply

Of course she is, she is essential to the show and she only took a break. The plan was for her to always come back.

I also get this click-bait which says "The Worst Movie Remakes of All Time" and has this very odd picture above it:-

It worryingly looks like this female may be naked with a man's hands on her back and something is happening that she really doesn't like!

Just wondering - since we have some click-bait explaining going on here - if anyone knows what's the story behind that one?

reply

I've wanted to show that picture to folks as sort of a Rorschach test and ask them to tell me what they think is going on in the picture. I know the story that plays out in my head when I see it is NSFW! :) :)

I never saw those ads but wouldn't such deceitful titles warrant a slander charge against the advertiser?

I constantly see ads here, all news sites, and yahoo with click bait ads with incorrect claims made in the titles
