Prabhas was born into a Telugu family to late U. Suryanarayana Raju and Siva Kumari. His family hails from Mogalthur, near Bhimavaram of West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He is the youngest of three children and is the nephew of Telugu actor Uppalapati Krishnam Raju.
