That's what I thought as well after seeing him in Night Train To Lisbon. Guapo.

Now that you mention it, I can see it.

I have just discovered him while catching up on Boardwalk Empire. I can totally see him as Freddie!

reply

Oh my God, that's PERFECT!

I was just coming here to say the exact same thing.

Great point. I have seen only two truly great actor portrayals of legends in biopics: Angela Basset as Tina Turner in What’s Love Got To Do With It?, and Jason Scott Lee as Bruce Lee in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. There have never been personalities more INTENSE!!! than those two. The older I get, the more impressed I
am with Freddie Mercury. He may very well be the best male rock ‘n’ roll singer ever. Rodger Daltry and Robert Plant fucking ROCK, but Freddie had a wider vocal range and, to my ear, better phrasing than they. Elvis will always be The King, and his songs of Devotion truly move me, deeply; and his voice is indeed beautifully melodious; and young Elvis had sex appeal up the wazoo, PLUS Southern manners; but, as a singer, I think that Freddie is better. He is the only singer whom David Bowie picked to do a duet with (Under Pressure). Name me one time that Bowie ever made a bad decision. One day they will make his movie, and it will fall on its face absent a real artist in his role. I think Jack Huston is an under appreciated treasure, and would make a fine choice. But who is going to play Brian May?
