Alex as Victor Ward (Glamorama)

While reading Bret Easton Ellis' Glamorama, and lazily and briefly contemplating who might be a good fit as an actor to play the character of Victor Ward (BESIDES Kip Pardue, who played him so awesomefully in his college days alongside Shannyn Sossamon as Lauren) Alex Pettyfer immediately came to mind.
I now find out that I'm not the only one, Pettyfer himself wanted(wants?) to play Victor, and Roger Avary who has the rights to make the film ALSO really wants Pettyfer.
Perhaps Alex Pettyfer has yet to prove himself in a higher level script/adaptation like this as a leading man, but seeing him in Beastly and others makes me think he's got the intensity and range to pull off a character like Victor. And his face /body is a pretty perfect fit for the description of Victor's character. Anyone have any other news or thoughts on this?
Amazing character, maybe there's an unknown or other actor out there that'd be just as good or better. But I think this guy just might have what it takes.

Brett Easton Ellis also wants Alex as Victor. I'm not convinced that it's a movie that will ever get made, though.

I also think Alex would make a great Victor Ward. I agree with Chris that I don't think this will get made. If done well it would be very entertaining.
