At least the pantyhose era is over.....

She's probably dancing in the streets that she doesn't have to wear them again - (unless she attends family functions in the future.) Don't know about that - maybe she's permanently off the hook!

Hold your tongue, devil!

One of the biggest problems I see with the Queen of England is, she is the one who sets the fashion style for her court. It appears her favorite fashion decade was the 60s, and she stubbornly kept to it all these years, regardless of the fashion changes over the next 5 decades. It made her and all the women around her [for years] look out-of-date and awkward compared to the ever-changing current fashions out there. She's just lucky now, 50 years later, that everyone in the European upper crust is back to wearing retro mid-century clothes and wacky, pinned-on hats.

How did Diana manage to be a fashion trendsetter if that is the case? Kate has her own style and has even been photographed in wedge shoes, (which the queen is said to hate.) I think most of them look polished and classy - with the exception of some of the fascinators, which I agree are extreme.

Sometimes the more independent women in the royal family would wear their own style, rather than what the Queen wanted.

Well you specifically stated all the women around her dressed to please the queen and look out of date, which is not true. I think most of the younger members of the royal family dress very up to date and as for the queen - she knows what looks good on her and that's what she wears.
