Cam needs to revitalize his career and kickstart its new phase.

I so agree with this. He still has so much potential (limitless). He is still young, talented and a good lead role in a new show will definitely do it for him. It's not about him being a big tv or movie star, it's the fact that he has nothing lined up in his projects. Being that he is a husband and father, a good tv show where he does not have to put in too much hours a day of work and still be there for his family is something he needs now.
