So I have a question about his character in 'The Magnificent Seven'...

POTENTIAL SPOILERS!!!



He plays the 'primary deputy' in the initial street scene/shootout.

He gets away, injured, as Goodnight cannot 'take the damned shot'. (And to be honest, I don't know how he escapes the opening salvo from Denzel, period.)

I'm assuming that he's the fella in the meeting with Bogue and the Sheriff in Pasadena. And he's with Bogue as his 'army' attacks the town.

So.

Maybe this is more a question about a plot-problem than him: If he got away and rode to Pasadena, wouldn't he have told Bogue about the shoot-out before the Sheriff arrived with the news?

Apologies if I haven't gotten my facts/deputies straight.
