Good of you to post the link here too, Broughps, I just was thinking of that :)
So here is the article that goes with that fine portrait! Really a pleasant surprise!
When the first photo appeared last week, I deleted a short passage of my original post. Having read the article and seen the other pictures, part of the first sentence seems appropriate.

» (...) this was really a Sam-only picture. «

Well, not only the first picture was a Sam-only picture, the article was too. I liked that.
(Following is more or less what I posted on the Outlander board.)

Very interesting article. It's a fascinating learning process Sam chose to follow. An "I did it my way" style that requires a fundamentally open/receptive attitude. Btw, good for us too that he didn't stay in stage management.
Both, Kenny and Sam talk very inspired about the Youth Theatre Arts Scotland, up-and-coming talents, and the medium range aims. They are doing a tremendous job!

"as a sort of glorified extra" - What a man! 😘

And more great pictures! John Devlin captured some very, very good moments... :)

Well I posted this here before I saw it posted on the Outlander board. I try to stick Sam stuff non Outlander here instead of clogging up the Outlander board with it.

But yeah a very nice article.

I understand what you mean. Still, I think it's a good thing that people post such information on the Outlander-board too, because it's a more active board than the ones on the actors' page. Example: I would never had seen Tobias' reading a few months ago if someone hadn't posted it on the Outlander-board. On rare occasions, like this one, that Sam "as Sam" has the undivided attention in an article, I wouldn't want it to escape my attention ;)
