The Next James Bond

Completely different from Craig, Brosnan, etc.,, but back to tall true Scot who will lLight Up the Franchise; AND they'll save money on stuntmen. Strong, athletic. Acting genius. Marathoner, Triathlete, Lifter, Swimmer, Boxer or Brawler. Serious Drinker. Kilted or Tuxed. Devilish Humor. Intuitive, Imaginative and Indefatigable Lover. Courageous, Ruthless, Virtuous. Was there something else you were seeking Ms. Broccoli?

Love Sam, but no.

Love Sam, and absolutely would be a wonderful Mr. Bond.

Was Moore a ginger, or brown haired? Do you think they'd let Heughan keep his natural hair color? (Assuming he's a real ginger, of course.)

I agree. Sam is talented but he's not the right actor to play James Bond. I wish the producers would cast Idris Elba as James Bond. Who says James Bond has to be white? Elba has fantastic range as an actor. Besides he makes me melt whenever he's on the screen.

Ian Fleming did. Like Idris but not as Bond. Now if they could come up with a Bond like character for him I'd be all for it.

Pff 

So a James Bond-like role is okay but not the James Bond character, even though Bond is fictional and the name Bond is only a codename for agents---definite loophole there.

Hmm, I wonder if you're this loyal to film adaptations and character portrayals when it comes to white, pale men parading around Ancient Egypt or some Middle Eastern setting masquerading like they belong--*cough* Prince of Persia.

OP, SH would just be cast for looks, but I'm not too confident he could take on that role. He's very masculine but there's something that reminds me of a sweet lab (dare I say) puppy...

reply

I do a lot of eye rolling when it comes to whites being cast in obvious ethnic roles.

At Sam's Club they have every James Bond movie, in a special release packaging that is a closeup of JB from that film, and I was struck by how much Sam looks like Roger Moore in some of those pics. Look up RM from the time he was the same age as Sam is now, in the Saint, the resemblance is striking.

I'd be really interested in Sam as Bond, he would have a mischievous twinkle in his eye, tried of dour Dan.
