Most unbelievable denial?

Which of these was the most unbelievable denial?

1. Richard Nixon - "I am not a crook."

2. Bill Clinton - "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

3. Tom Brady - "I feel like I’ve always played within the rules. I would never do anything to break the rules."

I say #3 was the most unbelievable denial. Just look at how long his nose grew:

4. AH_Fan - Tom Brady is the biggest fraud and cheater in NFL history

reply

Well, AH_fan, what about Jerry Rice's excuse that "everybody was doing it" regarding Stickumgate? Did you approve or disapprove of his reasoning?

With Rice's confession, Joe Montana's reputation and career accomplishments have to be questioned since the Raiders Lester Hayes said that stickum gave a player a huge advantage and without it a person becomes "a mere mortal". Montana's career passing statistics would look much different if his leading receiver, Jerry Rice, had not been an elite player courtesy of stickum.

So before you start casting stones at Tom Brady, be prepared to likewise do so at Joe Montana.

I'm sure, though, that you'll be a hypocrite just like Troy Aikman who won two Super Bowls with illegally filmed videotape and still somehow manages to be critical of the Patriots at every turn.

When you look at what former NFL players say about deflating the balls and the use of stickum, there is a vast difference. All of the players say the deflating of a football, makes it "a little easier" to grip the ball. Conversely, all players say that stickum makes it "much easier" to catch a ball.

BOTTOM LINE: If a player uses stickum, it gives a player a much greater advantage than if a player deflates the football.

That's easy, Bill Clinton.

One could argue that Nixon is not a crook and Brady has yet to be proven a cheater.

Brady has yet to be proven a cheater.

That's no longer true. The Wells Report, the NFL's equivalent of the MLB's Mitchell Report, has found that Brady was GUILTY of cheating. So Brady will go down as the biggest cheater and fraud and con artist in NFL history.

This IMO proves that the patriots have been looking for that edge for years and have been exploiting the rules and pushing the envelope.

That said, that is a part of sports and helps shapes the rules for the future, for the better. But you cannot cross the line.

Why would Tom Brady cheat? He's the greatest of all time, or is he?

Make no mistake, Jerry Rice used stickum, but so did everyone else ad you pointed out. Why didn't other players do what he did. Because he still worked hard in the off season. Which can say that it meant he was able to play (cheat) for longer. But his individual numbers are most likely a result of cheating. He didn't cheat his way to Super Bowl wins.

If Dan Marino's receivers used stickum they still sucked yet it's not all their fault for Miami not winning SB's they still did a great job with their talent level.

And if it's not Brady's fault who is it. It has to have been someone's idea. And I doubt a manager would tamper with the a
Greatest Qb ever's footballs without his knowledge because that's cheating but for the wrong side.

People need to believe he cheats because they can't cope with the Pats winning so much. It's amazing how so many other scandals have come and gone yet this one is brought up over and over. Everyone hates a winner-science, evidence, and pointing out examples of far worse violations doesn't matter to people don't want to hear it.
Pats have won now with carefully scrutinized psi measurements 2 of the last 3 Super Bowls. They lost draft picks, paid a million dollar fine and suspended their quarterback for (an unheard of) 4 games. It's still not enough. Murderers, wife abusers - slap on the wrist...Barely below the psi level by all means throw the book at him.
