OSCAR NOMINATION FOR HELL OR HIGH WATER

Oscar season is 2/3 months away and looking at the films released so far, I can tell Chris Pine as a good chance ( or at least deserves ) to be nominated for Hell or High Water. People seem to tell due to good looks that he is the new Brad Pitt but he does have more talent.

They are campaigning hard so we'll find out next month if he gets a golden globe nom. If he gets that he has a pretty good chance at an oscar nom.

I don't think he'll get a nom (but stranger things have happened before). The studio is all in for Jeff Bridges.

I will say this, Hell or High Water is my favorite role of Chris Pine's. Its his most mature role yet . And if he continues to play his cards right, he'll eventually get nominated . I will be rooting for him all the way!

To be honest i didn't see the difference in jeff's performance from his past ones. But chris now that performance was and i hope he will get nominated or at least the film gets nominated, then their all winners.

Well, I guess it has more chance to be nominated as best suporting actor ( anyway, like No Country for Old Men it is more like a assemble cast ) and, as far as I´m concerned, I give it more value to suporting roles without a main actor contender, that really makes the interpretation stand out.

I'm not a fan of awards season and to be perfectly honest, I hope Chris doesn't get nominated. There always seems to be a change in them and it's not for the better.

I know not all actors/actresses are like this, but it seems like when one gets nominated or win it seems that they're always bent on taking on more roles that will get them another nomination (think Jody Foster). I just don't want to see this happen with Chris.

I've always admired Zachary Quinto's attitude towards award nominations in that it's fun to get nominated but he didn't go into acting to win awards. I hope that if Chris does get a nomination he will adapt to Zach's attitude and not let it go to his head.

I totally agree.

Just because someone does something good for you, that doesn't mean they're good for you.

I don't think he will let it get to his head and there is nothing wrong in hunting for good roles whether they are award bait or not.

He has been nominated for awards before and it hasn't changed him at all he just keeps on going about what he loves doing.

The problem i have with winning the oscar isn't so much the actor but that it becomes harder for them to do smaller films because their price per film goes up etc.

Chris has always been a free spirt he goes for roles that he likes not what others like and that is something to admire about him. No point going through life if you don't like what you're doing.
