What's with him and Zachary Quinto growing out full-blown beards at the same time? Is there some kind of bet being carried out?

Well i don't know about zach but chris has no choice he has to keep the beard until he has finished filming a wrinkle in time. But on other times chris likes a beard because he doesn't like shaving all the time, unless he is bored then he experiments.
