Her stiltedness is obviously trying to emulate some formal Asian culture but she just seems like a bad actress for it. I wonder if they force her to "act" all wierd for this show.

I don't agree at all. She manages to convey a deep conflict even when she's trying to act like an obedient wife. She's a scheming murderous psychopath hiding behind a simpering smile. She's brilliant.
