Behanding in Spokane

She was excellent. If you happen to be in New York before June 6th, she's in a Martin McDonagh play starring Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Anthony Mackie, and Zoe Kazan. Definitely worth seeing.

That's fascinating, because I've seen it twice and I thought she was terrible both times. Strangely, I just saw The Private Lives of Pippa Lee and thought she was awesome. Go figure.

I just saw this show and thought she was the best thing in it. The show itself SUCKED. I never thought I would ever say that Christopher Walken was bad in anything, but he was REALLY BAD in the show. The writing was terrible. Honestly, Zoe and Anthony Mackie were the best things in it. Better than Christopher and Sam.

My only rebuttal to that is that Christopher Walken is cast to be Christopher Walken, and I thought he did that very well. Did you like McDonagh's other works? Like Six Shooter and In Bruges or his other previous plays? If you did, I'm surprised you didn't like Behanding. It wasn't as good as those but I thought Walken, Mackie, and Kazan were excellent. You're right about Rockwell though. He wasn't great.

I hadn't heard of this girl before, so I'm not judging her acting ability, in fact I'm sure she's just fine considering she went to Yale and seems fairly popular, but I thought she was awful in this play. That's alright though, stage acting is hard and she wasn't given a great role. I found her and Anthony Mackie to be the worst actors in the show. If it weren't for the quirky brilliance of both Walken, and especially Rockwell (who had the audience in stitches with almost every line) I think the show would have been a real bummer.

reply

yeah I thought her and Mackie were the two weak links of the show and it seemed almost like they were trying so hard not to be out done by Walken and Rockwell. I agree that the writing of the play was not the greatest but I had a great time and enjoyed Christopher Walken being Christopher Walken. Very funny show.

Well she shares dna with a grandfather who was a director so we are commanded to be impressed. Had a funny thought about the nepotism going on like her and emma roberts and opie's girl bryce dallas howard...first, why is it a calling card? I mean, why is it so fascinating to directors and producers? And second, especially when claiming a grandfather in the biz...isnt some sort of dna test needed at some point?

Do you know he cooperated with the House UnAmerican Activities Committee in 1952, which led to the blacklisting that ruined many careers in Hollywood because of their political beliefs?
