If he wants to keep his career...

I love Jim Parsons, that's why I'm saying this... if he doesn't get some movie roles, some REAL movie roles, he might not have a real career in a few years. I've seen it before. Take That 70's Show, personally I think Topher Grace is a way better actor than Kutcher, but Kutcher made a lot of movies while filming the show. He got his name out there and into some leading roles. Topher on the other hand didn't have a lot to speak for. Look at him now. But, Jim Parsons still has a chance but if he doesn't get leads, and box office movies he could fade out. And that scares me.

I have a feeling that Jim is more interested in doing more of Broadway and becoming a theater person (given his theater background). But I agree that I would love to see him in some significant movie roles. He's not only great at comedy - I feel he has an intensity which could suit dark, tragicomic characters.
It's great that TNH, at least, is being remade on the big screen, though we don't know yet how that movie will turn out.

I agree with Pomina, I think Jim is more interested in the theater. But, a couple of good movie roles may help. Keep in mind that Kutcher also had his name out there because of who he's married to - soon to be ex and big name-ish actress, Demi Moore.

^^ Thirded. Theatre will always be his first love, which sucks for those of us who may never get a chance to see him on stage. At the end of the day, he has to do what is right for him, if that means a Broadway career then so be it. (and I'll start saving up now to move to NYC, lol)

Saying that, I would love to see him in a good non-comedic TV or Movie role someday. I think he'd be amazing given the chance. :)

I'm still holding out hope for an impactful movie role some day; even a one-off, if he would be happier focusing on Broadway..

(how does one move from India to NYC?)

Ok, I have to defend Topher here because I personally know him so I will say that he isn't a limelight type like Ashton is. Toph is doing exactly what he wants to do and taking certain projects. If you read recently about him then you'd know he edited the Star Wars movies into an 85 minute deal after finding interest in the editing production process and it got rave reviews with the very few people who got to view it. He has also done quite a few movies and roles, maybe not blockbuster but he's happy. Ash is a spotlight/egotistical hog so that is why he is where he is. Toph would rather take on a regular lifestyle and still work. Don't worry about him, he is perfectly fine. Now, Jim is doing Broadway and the show so he too is gonna be just fine. Even if he never worked a day after tbbt he is not gonna suffer too much. He's not a limelight hog like Ash is.
