Evan on Jimmy Kimmel

I've been such a big fan of Evan Peters the last couple of years. He has just captured the character of Quicksilver in X-Men. I have not seen all of his work, but I did see Elvis & Nixon in the theatre last spring when it came out. he did a great job in that playing a presidential aide, so it shows his versatility as an actor. I watched a clip of him being interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel, and he was asked about working with Al Pacino, on the upcoming film Dabka, being released next year. Evan responded with something like, "He's really old, he's like 75 or something". I felt really disappointed in that comment. I know he didn't mean anything by it, but I would expect him to say something like, "Well, you know, Pacino is a master, and I just tried to learn everything I could from him". It just seemed like an ageist comment for a young actor to make regarding an older actor who is a legend.

Evan has never been the most articulate person in interviews. I will point out that he has also complimented Pacino a number of times. He's said that Pacino "still has it" and that he (Evan) was intimidated until he learned that he (Pacino) was a sweet guy. And he's familiar with Pacino's filmography, which indicates respect. So while Pacino is in fact old enough to be Evan's grandfather, I don't think the comment was meant to be dismissive.
