New Baby = A New Challenge

I'm happy Diora is pregnant but I do see this as the turning point in her career. She's relied almost entirely on her looks and body to this point. She can of course get back in shape post-baby but my gut tells me she will focus her time more on being a mom versus being a sexpot.

In a way, I find this all very sad. I think Diora just needed to be offered the right role. A breakout turn that could have capitalized on her looks, body, and sexiness. I saw Diora as potentially a modern day Catherine Deneuve. Maybe that day would have never come, but at least there way always serious potential for it to happen. Even her very recent appearance in the British GQ gave me hope that it would potentially lead to more auditions and hopefully even that big breakout role.

And it goes beyond her face and body. If you follow her on Twitter you see clearly that she is very bright, funny, and kind. She could have played a variety of roles, and maybe she still will moving forward, but that potential to really be a huge actress, I fear, is essentially over. I mean, she could land and nail a big dramatic role down the role, but my point is that I think the obvious star making turn would have been something sexy and sultry and while it still remains a possibility, I honestly think such a thing is never going to happen now.

Who knows, maybe Diora will surprise us and kill it in Hollywood post-baby. But my gut says she'll focus more of her free-time on her child versus her career and that of course won't help her professionally.

I hope she proves me wrong.

One doesn't exclude the other. I'm sure her carreer will be just find. If not, thank god there are more important things in live then our work

She's hot, but has only done maybe a few good movies in my opinion. So small loss.

I don't think it makes all that much difference, assuming she loses the baby weight and doesn't gain too many inches all over. Hell, it might even expand her melons a bit more...hubba hubba!

But if it means she's gonna refuse any future nude scenes, then damn her for going the mom route so soon!

Anything you say, Lloyd...anything you say!

Her turning 30 will hurt her career. She did peak.

No, turning 30 isn't necessarily the issue. Loads of actresses were seen as viable sex symbols and had thriving careers into their 30s (though, they did eventually fissile out by their late 30s). The problem is Diora never established herself as a serious actor or at least carve out a niche for herself. Hollywood is only willing to give you so many opportunities and plenty of actors burned out a younger age.

There are few things as fetching as a bruised ego on a beautiful angel.

At this point her career is most def. over. It's actually pretty sad, since I remember watching TCM: The Beginning and I was sure she was one of the new Horror-Hotspots or is going to put a career like Amber Heard out

I think she still has a shot. By the looks of recent pics on her Instagram she kept in shape post-baby. Perhaps she will make a comeback in the near future. I mean, she's only 30 right now.

Anything could happen. She could devote more time to being a mom and less to being an actress. The timing of her pregnancy was just weird. Perhaps the baby was an accident. I saw her in GQ British edition and I thought, well, maybe this is a sign of things to come. It was the comedy issue right before she got pregnant. The rest of that year was dominated by her pregnancy, as expected.

Diora's career wasn't exactly going strong at that point but the timing of her GQ appearance was rather curious. She wasn't promoting any project and it was a 2 page spread with her half naked, talking up her ability to be funny on camera (which I agree with). I think Diora can do very well via comic relief as the sexy girl character. I don't think I've ever seen Diora take on a dramatic role so that remains to be seen.

I was wrong to start the thread in the first place and say the new baby means the end of her potential. I feel the opposite now. But I want to see where her career goes from here.
