Swearing in Beatles songs

In Hey Jude, famously, there's the F-word dropped by McCartney (just before the main long Na-na-na-na fade-out) when he mishit a piano note. Lennon told him to keep that in!

At the end of A Day in the Life, during the long piano chord, a chair is heard to creak and someone utters ''Sh1t''.

I always heard it was Lennon, I believe he hit the wrong string (Lewisohn)
How could it be Paul if he was middle of the verse

What do you mean 'How could it be Paul?' He CAN sing and play, didn't you know?

Emerick said, "Right between the lines 'The minute you let her under your skin/ Oh, then you begin' you can clearly hear Paul curse off mic saying 'F****** hell!'" He explained that Paul said it after playing the wrong note on the piano.

Can he sing and curse, though?

The live version, no.

The studio version- like has already been stated, Lennon said to ''leave it in''...

I also heard it was actually Lennon, and that it was because he came in late on his harmony vocal.

It's there, but unless you're really listening hard, you can barely hear it as it kinda gets muffled pretty quickly.

The outtake of "A Day In the Life" on Anthology does have Paul saying "Oh Sh*t!" when he screwed up the line "Somebody spoke & I went into a dream..."

I suppose in Girl the chorus was 'tit tit tit-tit-tit-tit Girrrrr-rrrrlll...'

Once in a while they'd even slip something naughty into their lyrics, though not actual profanity. The one example I can easily remember is the mention of "finger pie" in Penny Lane. Liverpool slang for fingering a vagina! (I was going to say lady part's, but then I remembered that these days women can have penises.)

"Fish and finger pie"

I miss finger pie
