I dont think so. Season 4 ended with him wanting to be killed by the other king but he is starring in the first 5 episodes of season 5. I doubt he will be held captured for a whole 5 episodes. He also said in an interview he was finished filming season 5 and was hoping for a season 6. He wouldnt say that if he were to be killed off.

The TV serie is doing its own thing and much of the story of Ragnar is very uncertain so creativity can be made here. Although his sons are powerful, nothing can beat the intensity of Ragnar. His fighting was amazing to watch, i hope he somehow can find back to his old self, time before eating those mushrooms :P
