Seriously Tyler Perry's "comedies" truly are modern day minstrel shows. The only real difference is that he doesn't have white actors in blackface. Why do people keep accepting mediocrity and banality?

shareAgreed but this is a new day and age. Older generations of blacks wouldn't accept this type of self-hatred and/or racist trite and banality and would be out protesting about the films in an attempt for their removal from the screen and get them banned. Perry never would have gotten as far as he has and would've be deemed a sellout.
Hollyweird has attached a black face (Tyler Perry) to these "minstrel show' type of films so some people simply don't recognize it for what it is.
This highlights the farther degradation of America and the black community and what a setback.

These and many more are the beginning of the minstrel entertainment. These are things the black community love to watch and laugh at but attack Tyler Perry who write his shows with a message. A message the black community needs to hear. There is nothing minstrel about his work.
