I liked him as Lincoln in The 100 I honestly thought he would live through the whole series but sadly he didn't.

He was unhappy with the way his character was sidelined in season 3 and asked to be written out.

Well there was a bit more to it than that but basically he fell out with the show's producer Jason Rothenberg, who he said was 'professionally bullying' him. If you're really interested, Ricky gave a long interview about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owT75EwjSt8&t=3760s
