Is she shy?

Sounds crazy I know!

However... she always seemed so uncomfortable when interviewed and the only interview in which I've seen her play herself was when she was on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. She seemed very ill at ease.

Every time she is on Fallon she assumes an identity. I haven't seen her anywhere else where she seems comfortable being interviewed. She seems to rarely give interviews.

Am I wrong? Is it just me? Do I not watch enough TV?

I can kinda understand that. Many celebrities hate interviews. Kristen seems like the type of person who relishes in making people laugh in sketch shows, but interviews are a totally different story. You're stuck with one person and you have to get along with them in order for the interview to go well, otherwise you may worry that you come across like a jerk, or you're shy or something.

Entertainers or comedians/comediennes will just come up with ideas (or do their material if they do stand-up) to make their talk-show interviews more entertaining. That's all it is in most cases, IMO.

I remember seeing a Will Ferrell interview on the show Entertainers With Byron Allen very early in his SNL career (1997 or 1998). In that interview, he was just being himself but it was kind of boring. Luckily for him, I was probably one of the only people that saw it because that show used to come on at like 1:30 or 2 in the morning.

Ever since then, in every talk-show interview I've seen of his, he always has some comedic ideas in hand for it because he probably knows that it wouldn't be as entertaining for the viewers to watch him just be himself in interviews.

I noticed that while checking the Ghostbusters junket. She was barely in them because she was always "sick" or something. I´ve seen a couple of interviews and she´s boring rather serious unlike Leslie Jones or Kate McKinnon that always had something funny to say and it came natural.

She has said though that she sees herself as an actress who also does comedy, not a comedian only.

I remember hearing her on Marc Maron's WTF podcast, and she was drier than a piece if toast.
