YESSSS. I was just watching it and I was thinking of the exact same thing.

I don't really see that as a good thing. It's like he's trying to be Jonah Hill, or impersonate him or something, rather than finding his own niche, and becoming his own actor. Jonah Hill wannabe at best. Should find his own method.

I totally agree with you! It seemed like the director originally wanted Jonah Hill to play that role or something and then when he had to settle for Gad he just told him to "channel Jonah"... bizarre. I didn't get the Jack Black vibe too much though

Yea, and that will either hold his career back, or give it a boost. If people believe he's just trying to leech off Jonah's popularity (which I guarantee is the farthest thing from his mind), then he'll lose respect (despite being a great actor and a genuinely nice guy), but some directors might try to use him if Jonah is unavailable, leading to more work for Josh.
