Should play MJ in new Spider-Man series

Yes definetly she should play, or should've played, MJ in the new Spiderman movie. She might've tried out, alas we'll never know. Seems though we often see the same actors/actress all the time as casting often comes down to who's the most popular at the moment (read - most bankable). Danielle is extremely talented and needs "that" break.

Except they have already established Gwen Stacy as being the love interest so no need for MJ in these movies.

Why not? They plan on making sequels, so they'd be able to play out the full Gwen Stacy arc and introduce MJ as a friend/potential rival.

How do you know they won't try again, this time more faithfully to the comics?

They've already said they will distance these films as much as possible from the first three.

I still don't see how that translates to "will never feature MJ." She's a major character from the source, and they could still play it very differently. After all, MJ in those films was actually closer in personality to Gwen in the comics. I have never seen anyone from Sony explicitly say the rebooted series will not feature MJ; rather, I've read several interviews with producers implying that they would fit her in.
