Very, very talented. I really thought her amazing performance in Merchant of Venice as well as strong turns in Bug and The Lake House would move her up the Hollywood food chain. She's far more talented than the majority of young actresses working in Hollywood today, but she hasn't broke through.

shareI'd say she's average and her career is exactly where it should be. She was ok in MOV, not all that brilliant. She was silly and forced in The Lake House. She's spent a lot of time since then trying to be a star, showing up in see-through clothes at various events, showing off the naked glory in magazines and in the very cheesy True Blood -- that's not going to give you Cate Blanchett's career. She's doing cartoon-y roles now which I think actually suits her. I think that's her level.
You'd say she was "OK" in Merchant of Venice? No way. And whether or not she wears provocative clothes has nothing to do with her talent.
