Looks so gentle and very good natured in TFA

It's quite refreshing. I've only seen him in intense and antagonistic roles. He's believable both.

You're right in that he tends to do roles more in that vain...I've even seen him say something kind of similar in an interview once. He's shown the other side of his, the TFA side, if you'd prefer, here and there throughout moments or scenes though. I'd love for him to do a comedy or something that allows him to show a lighter, goofier, or congenial range. I don't think there's doubt he's capable of it, as he seems to be in real life, so it'd be great to see some of that come to life more on screen!

I'm just happy for any role we get to see him in, though, to be honest 

Yeah. I was just a little surprised. It's the first time I saw him like that. The hair could've done so much too. If possible, could you recommend me some movies where his role is similar from TFA? Thanks.

I would say his character in 'Agora' is more on the good side of things. He's in a dark and frustrating situation, but he's trying to do the right thing and has a sweet relationship with Rachel Weizs' character. Not to mention the costumes (and Oscar, again, are/is gorgeous!).

Um, his character in The Two Faces of January, isn't the pinnacle of heroism or anything, but he ends up being the better person, in my opinion, of the three. He's kind of a person who gets in over their head and tries to get himself out of it and all that. So, some goodness kind of comes through there. I would definitely say Poe is the most righteous character he's ever played.

And, full disclosure, I haven't seen every film he's ever done just the ones I was interested in. So another fan may have more to contribute and suggest!

Cool. Thanks. Oddly enough, before TFA the only movies I've seen of him is where he's an intense character, or a villain like I said. Sucker Punch, Ex Machina, Drive

Right, well he has played some rather intense people! He's good at it though! Happy watching 😀

Watch "10 Years". He plays a lighter character in it. The film itself is light.

"Won't Back Down". He's a teacher who plays a ukelele and sings to his students.

He's actually not bad in Drive, he loved his family and was trying to protect them. Doesn't have a lot of screen time, though.

In Nativity Story he literally plays a saint.

In For Greater Glory he is the antagonist of the good guys, but a good guy nonetheless and he is vindicated in the end.

I agree, loved seeing him as a good guy like Poe. I saw him as that first, went out and got a bunch of films with him in it to watch, and was shocked at how unlikable his characters nearly always are, though he brings so much charisma it's hard not to root for them just a little.
