Well Vinnie Jones was considered for the Role a few years ago,I think he would have been a good choice

In my opinion, i think Dave Batista will be great as Kurgan, he's already growing and improving as a actor, just give him a chance, especially his other role as Tong Po in Kickboxer Vengeance
