Yeah, I noticed this too.

However I don't think (hope) it's the start of balding. In an interview about preparing for his role in Rush, Chris talked about the side effects of having to lose that much weight. Apart from moodiness he mentioned his hair fell out. I think that this could be the case for this movie Heart of the Sea, where he and some of the other actors were on about 500 - 600 calories a day to look like starving castaways. Around the time of making this he was also promoting Thor 2, and he hair on occassion seemed thinner all over not just at the front.

I know from personal experience that drastic diet changes can lead to hair falling out. Despite my doctor saying that they were unrelated, my hair for the first time in a long while stopped falling out, when I was able to modify my diet.

In more recent photos of Chris his hair does look thicker.

He is 31 and lots of guys start losing hair in their late 20s and 30s,I think hes lost a small amount of hair,but he still has a nice head of hair

He has a mature hairline versus a juvenile one, but I don't think he has receded too much. He has a widow's peak, which makes his hairline more noticeable. In the case of that Heart of the Sea promo pic, the wavy, wet hair contrasts strongly with his peak, so it makes his hairline look more pronounced.

You know what, I noticed this too of late (not only in that poster but when he's out and doing promo etc) and it really does spur along the consensus that he did a steroid cycle pre-Thor in the day. That really accelerates any hair loss you will suffer, and it seems ever since then he's gone a bit barer.

Probably the roids mixed with having to get down to low bodyfat levels. If it ever gets bad, he will be able to afford hair plugs.

Wait until he hits his mid-40's like me, and it'll be Rogaine city, lol. I used to be able to rock a pompadour like Andrew Dice Clay in my early 30's, but like current Andrew Dice Clay, my frontal hair has faded, and if it wasn't for Rogaine, I'd be like George Jefferson. Same will happen to Hemsworth. The sh!t works.
