Does anyone know why he was on crutches in Season 5?
shareHe injured his knee (dancing, of all things); pretty severely, actually, and had to have multiple surgeries on it. If you google it, you'll find information, but he also gave a talk/show at UNH maybe 5 years ago, and there is video footage of it where he talks about his injury. Apparently, it's a miracle that he made a full recovery from it, because of the way he injured it. So after he was injured, they wrote in the whole "Spencer gets shot in the leg" thing into the Season 5 opener - if you watch that episode carefully, you'll notice that he's always filmed seated, and if it shows him starting to stand up, the camera always cuts away quickly.
